My new venture

Hi, during lockdown I started to think about how I could tweak my life to be able to work and visit my adult children and grandchildren. They live around the world- Netherlands, Czech Republic and Malaysia.

I have worked as a Childminder since 1994 and have grown and developed personally, emotionally and educationally. When our kids were older and the last one was a teenager I started an Open University degree in Early Years, little believing I could achieve it.

Well, it took 7 long years, working 4 days, studying 3 days but I finally completed it in 2016. Since then I’ve added Introduction to Neuroscience in Early Years and I’ve just qualified as a Sleep Practitioner.

My next steps are to become a Sleep Consultant adding Behaviour Management and Childcare advice to my services. My last 2 Ofsted inspections were graded ‘Outstanding’ - 2011/2016

I love my job, working with 0-3 yr olds, having an input into their most important time of life when they are developing personally, socially, emotionally and physically and discovering who they are. But I so want to see my own children, grandchildren and future ones. Covid has robbed me of a great deal of their young lives, I’ve missed so much.

My aim is to build my new business and eventually work remotely and travel the world visiting my wonderful adult children and gorgeous grandchildren.

PS My husband is currently training to be a Life Coach and then we’ll be off.
